To me the ‘Africa Dream’ represents a continent’s hope for a brighter better tomorrow. A tomorrow that sees all its sons and daughters being able to fully provide for themselves and their families. This is what pushes me everyday.

Employment:

I'm part of a four member family. My mother is the bread winner in my family as general hand at the hospital, and my father has been unemployed for 8 years. My sister is an A'Level student, and my fees and my sister's fees combined is equal to six months of my family's income. [When I got the scholarship] I did not know where my parents would get it. The scholarship was my last hope in continuing with my studies. The African Dream scholarship has greatly helped me and my family. As a medical student, it means I will become medical doctor once I finish my five and half year course. After that I hope to specialise in neurosurgery. As a medical practitioner I will be able to give back to the community. I hope to use my position as a doctor to help those in need of healthcare services. In Zimbabwe there are very few neurosurgeons, and therefore they are in demand.
